MT2030 Net Zero Pact

Mountain and outdoor communities are on the front lines of climate change. With increasingly inconsistent winters, persistent drought, and devastating wildfires happening every year, climate change has become an omnipresent threat to the future of our businesses, our livelihoods, and the outdoor experience that nourishes us all. As leaders in mountain communities, it is our obligation to address this issue in a bold, timely, and meaningful way.

As mountain communities on the front lines of climate change, we are committed to:

  1. Addressing climate change at the speed and scale that it demands by committing to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
  2. Implementing an inclusive and resilient long-term climate plan that engages diverse voices, to ensure that it benefits all citizens equitably.
  3. Collaborating with other community leaders to build our collective capacity; scaling the right solutions that grow our local economies, protect public health and create a sustainable carbon-free future for all.

We invite mountain communities to set these ambitious goals and align with us.
